Cette œuvre vidéographique, réalisée en mai 2022, provient d’explorations urbaines menées à l’aide de la numérisation 3D dans le contexte de revitalisation du Square Viger, à Montréal. Inspirée par le concept de Site-Writing développé par l’historienne de l’architecture Jane Rendell, ainsi que par son adaptation aux études performatives et à la scénographie proposée par la professeure, artiste et chercheuse Shauna Janssen, cette œuvre explore le potentiel qu’offre la numérisation 3D pour orienter le sentiment du lieu – feelings of place. Ici, le son, le mouvement, la matérialité digitale, s’assemblent pour construire un espace de contemplation – an atmospheric of slowness and tenderness – en contrepoint de la brutalité des transformations urbaines éprouvées.

This video work, created in May 2022, stems from urban explorations conducted using 3D scanning within the context of the revitalization of Viger Square in Montreal. Inspired by the concept of Site-Writing developed by architectural historian Jane Rendell, and its adaptation to performance studies and scenography by professor, artist, and researcher Shauna Janssen, this work explores the potential of 3D scanning to shape feelings of place. Here, sound, movement, and digital materiality combine to construct a space for contemplation—an atmosphere of slowness and tenderness—in counterpoint to the brutality of the urban transformations experienced.
